The Situation This boat is stored on a backyard lift near the Intracoastal Waterway. Due to the afternoon sun and salt spray, the black hull had started to appear hazy. Where water trickled down from the deck's T-top hardware, rust streaks were also beginning to appear. Our Method Throughout the day, our mobile detailing team worked directly at the owner's dock. We started by acid-washing the waterline to remove the stain. After that, a machine polish was used to remove the hazy oxidation on the hull. Finally, a high-melting-point marine p olymer wax was applied to restore gloss and add protection. The Result Restoring the hull's mirror-like finish greatly improved the boat's appearance. The protective wax coating makes routine rinsing much easier for the owner after days in the water. By addressing the oxidation early on, we were able to avoid the need for a later, much more expensive restoration procedure. These projects demonstrate how expert detailing and routine maintenance can significantly extend the life of a boat's external surfaces.
